In the last 6 weeks my refrigerator and dishwasher needed repair and I called Sears home service to honor the warranty I purchased in 2009. It took 4 visits to repair the refrigerator including 1 visit where the technician disconnected the control panel and thus shut the power off and ruined ALL the food in the refrigerator and freezer. It took 5 days to get someone to come back and turn it back on. No apology from Sears was provided. When they finally come they make a diagnosis of the problem (50% accuracy BTW), order parts and return no sooner than 10 business days later. So any repair call is an automatic 2-3 week delay to repair (assuming all goes well).
Oct 20th I called to repair the dishwasher. Today is Nov 19th and they still have not fixed it despite numerous calls to the useless 1800 # and 4 scheduled appointments including 3 no shows from Sears. Today, I finally had a technician come to the house. He managed to not fix the dishwasher but did turn off the water to my kitchen faucet in some creative way that I cannot seem to undo. So now I have no dishwasher and no faucet. I called the useless 1800 # at 6 pm and at 7:30 (after 1 1/2 hours on hold) finally spoke to Jasmine who told me she couldn't help me and I should call be tomorrow.
1) The response time for Sears Home Service is a joke (avg 10 days for appointments even if they screw up a portion of the repair and make things worse instead of better)
2) The 1800-# goes to the Philippians and there is nothing they can do to help you including schedule an appointment or trouble shoot a problem. They put you on hold and then disconnect you after you have been on hold for more than 30 mins (this happened more than 10 times and therefor cannot be a coincidence)
3) The technicians are useless and not only incompetent but careless and destructive to your personal property.
Monetary Loss: $2000.
